Why is a clinical rotation with Upstream different?

At Upstream Rehabilitation, we collaborate with accredited physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and athletic training programs to offer students an outstanding clinical experience. Classroom didactic information will be integrated with hands-on, evidence-based clinical experiences to help the student see the whole picture for each patient. Upstream’s reputation has attracted many talented senior therapists who share the same passion for educating and mentoring other motivated and committed students and therapists.

Our company provides:
• Diverse patient population
• Surgical observation opportunities
• Teleconferences/in-services/continuing education
• Regional grand rounds
• Electronic documentation practice
• Proficiencies to prepare for entry-level abilities, and much more.

Our hope is to provide every student advancement in their chosen profession and an increased passion for patient care.

Upstream as a Clinical Site

We strive to provide our students with the best outpatient, manual therapy, and orthopedic affiliation available. During structured Grand Rounds and Student Tutorials, led by members of our education team, students receive one-on-one time with therapists and CIs. We provide students with an extensive pre-affiliation onboarding packet that contains the company guidelines, the student handbook, and a documentation review. Completion of this onboarding is mandatory prior to the affiliation. This ensures students are adequately prepared for the types of patients they will see in our clinics and become familiar with the rules and laws in the affiliated states.
